On Fridays {maybe not every Friday... we'll see how this goes}, I link up with a whole community of Five Minute Friday posts. Today's word for Five Minute Friday is: GRIT.

When I think of the word grit, the saying "no grit, no glory" come to mind right away. That saying isn't always true though, right?

Haven't you put so much grit into something {or even someone} only to find no glory at the end? Only disappointments... perhaps even heartache? I sure have.

In times like that, the verses from 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (ESV) give me assurance:
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
In the Lord, our labour is not in vain... all that grit will not go to waste! I can't tell you how reassuring it is to know that.

Linking up at The Gypsy Mama with other Five Minute Friday posts:

... where we write for five minutes flat on Fridays.
We write because we want to, not because we have to.
We write for fun, for joy, for discovery.
Won’t you join us?

Unwrapping more of His love in this world.
Act justly.  Love mercy.  Walk humbly with God!
