Praying for Team Haiti: Day 12

Last night, our family went shopping for Team Haiti supplies!  We wiped out a whole display of necklace kits from Michael's... we cleaned out two different Wal-mart locations of stickers and beach balls... and, did I mention we had lots of fun?!?

Side note: It was great to be able to take the children with us as we did this task for Team Haiti.  It enabled them to see tangibly where the money they donated was going to and what it was for.  This was just one more of those teachable moments on the road of our family's journey to live on mission each day --- what a blessing!

At one of the checkout counters, the cashier asked us why we were purchasing so much stuff... we told her that the supplies will be going down to Haiti.  She said: "They're going to love you down there!"

That comment got me thinking... while I sure do hope that Team Haiti will be received with open arms, I sure do hope that the Haitian people will not stop at just loving Team Haiti... but that they will come to love God, the One who brought Team Haiti to them.

So... this is my prayer today: I pray that the Haitian people will come to know the great love that the Heavenly Father has for them through Team Haiti!
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! --- 1 John 3:1 (NLT)
